Independent Assortment
The segregation of alleles into gametes follows the laws of probability: therefore an Aa individual would produce 50% A gametes and 50% a gametes.
If genes are on different chromosomes, alleles assort independently of each other. This is called independent assortment. The chance of an allele at one locus being in a particular gamete is independent for each locus.
