Cells are caused by the

rotation and spherical shape

of the Earth.

Warm air looses moisture

as it rises, causing rain at the

equator. This air moves toward

the pole, at some point it descends,

lacking moisture, and creating

very dry conditions at about 30

degrees north and south latitude.
