Habitat Structure
Habitat structure is the small-medium scale environmental heterogeneity created by the interaction between environmental conditions, vegetation, and features of the topography.
- Spatial structure-usually created by surface features of the environment, vegetation,and the action/presence of large organisms
- Temporal structure-habitats can be structured in time as well as in space. Most habitats have seasonal variation and daily variation which has enormous effects on the habitats of organisms
