This
just in
Breaking news - rumur has it
Valhalla upset the Harlequins by winning 3 to nothing.
On top of that 2 of the Elves are injured and will be
missing next Wednesday's game against the Cowboys!
Story at 6
(I have to take my daughter to the park, but I'll put
the highlights in later this evening; plus Mike took
some pictures, so hopefully they come out good! No doubt
they will come out better than his rolling today
)

Oh, there was a righteous
elf asskicking at Valhalla Stadium today. I'll let Dean
tell the story in all its glory, but let me just say
that it wasn't a good day to be an elf.

At the start of the game - don't we all look healthy?

Failing to pick up the loose ball - aaaaaarg!

Siesta time at Valhalla Stadium

The second half kickoff - two elves shy this time

How to cream an elf

The third and final nail in my coffin
Highpoints: (few though
they may be)
Knocking out a blitzer and not having him come back for
the rest of the game
No long-term injuries.
Sidestep - still an annoying skill
Low points:
Electing to receive the first kickoff, the defense
getting a blitz, and then my brand-new catcher becoming
a casuality before he actaully gets to move on the
pitch! (he'll get the next game off to nurse the broken
arm...)
My Agility 5 catcher failing to pick up a loose ball IN
THE ENDZONE!
Failing to wash off the goblin goo from the last game
and not being able to pick up the ball at least four
times
All in all, it was a great game! Dean is the man to
beat! |

Valhalla's Reign (Ordo) vs. The Harlequins (Valdric)
It was a perfect day to play
Bloodbowl, as 42,000 witnessed history in the making. It
started off fast and furious, right before they kicked
off, Valhalla blitzed injuring an Elf catcher who was
just hired to play for the Harlequins. As he got shoved
into the stands, if I didn't hear his bones crack myself
I would have thought he was taking a dive to get out of
playing. After that, both teams went back and forth down
the field, but on turn 7, Armon Jormunrek dodges his way
in for a 1-0 lead. The half ended this way, with the
Harlequins failing many opportunities to pick up the
ball - that probably would have changed the whole
direction of the game.
Second half action, was more of the same. Leif Vandrad,
who had preformed awesome in his first two games. caught
a pass and ran down the field. Knowing that scoring more
points would mean more brewskis after the game, 6 fellow
Norsemen formed a cage around him that sent him into the
end zone on turn 4 of the 2nd half. Both teams had guys
who just could not snap out of being knocked out. There
was some more Elf bashing and Elves failing to pick up
the ball, and on the Norse's 8th turn of the 2nd half,
Bor Gotlandor ran and made two go-for-it's to make the
TD!
Valhalla's Reign wins 3-0.
Harlequins: 30,000 winnings & FF (same)
Reign: 30,000 winnings & FF -1 (now zero) new TV of 1,180,000
Extra
low lights:
* I rolled a 3 for winnings
(40,000) -so elected to reroll and came up with a 2
(30,000)
* I rolled a FF stays the same, rerolled it and rolled a
1 (-1FF)
* I rolled a 1 for MVP, meaning I had to decide random.
This ended up working out good, because it was a lineman
who had a previous casualty meaning he gets a skill
roll.
(the lowlight being, that I previously gave my Minotaur
an MVP, so this one would have gave him his second
giving him a skill)
Highlights
:
* Rolled a stat increase of +1AG for my catcher (now
having two guys on my team with a AG4!)
* Playing a great game that was closer than it looks
here. The second two scores came later in the 2nd half,
and this would have been way WAY closer if Valdric
didn't roll so many one's!
Mike, great game, and we will meet again.
My guys want more beer you know!
NOTE -
Valcric, you get an extra 10,000 in winnings (should be
30,000). We were supposed to add in the CEM to that
roll. I think I missed getting that in earlier games,
but we are learning still.

Sounds like a
kick-a$$ game. Wish I could have been their to cheer on
the Norse.
Glad to know the curse my goblins placed on the
Harlequins was money well spent.
Now, of course, I will cheer on the next team to play
the Norse. Dean, I bet your Norse didn't notice the
fungus beer mixed in with your brewskis. Your next game
will be interesting since fungus beer lowers your
ability to withstand damage. Your team is going to get
hurt and hurt bad.
