Lindsay's Virtual Tour of Mike's Office

We'll spare you the tour of the campus - I wasn't kidding when I told Meredith that the architecture was modern industrial concrete.  Walking into a lab room, we see this:

If you were a student, you'd have a seat at the lab bench, constructed out of pegboard and plywood with a cheap laminate top:

The center table of the labroom contains much of the common equipment.  For the moonshine lab (a personal favorite of yours), the still is found here:

However, space for crap is limited, and much of the supplies (like the mop and the fetal pigs) have to be stored in the corner:

Moving onto the back room, we'll now find Mike's office, where he spends at least ten hours of each day tirelessly writing new labs for the education and enjoyment of his students:

Notice how neat and organized this room is.  It has to be, because of all of the dangerous chemicals which are stored here.  While not completely a desk job, Mike does spend a lot of time at the desk.  No cost was spared by the biology department at UIC to provide Mike with ergonomically designed furniture to help him with all his arduous tasks

Unfortunately, Mike can't always be there, so sometimes his students leave him little notes to let them know they stopped by

Sometimes, however, Mike needs a little breaktime, so he has been known to have a small painting station.  This small hobby takes up no more resources than, say, reading a book or checking personal email.

Sometimes, however, Mike is bad and utilized the fume hood to spray paint his miniatures

Occasionally, Mike and Alan have students come and visit them.  UIC has kindly provided a couch for the students to sit.  Rumor has it that Mike and Alan have actually napped here, but that is just rumor

I hope you have enjoyed our little tour of Mike and Alan's office space.  It is recommended you wash your hands and any other body parts that came in direct contact with any laboratory equipment or furniture.  Have a pleasant day!
