Important Characters in Spud's Witchcraft Campaign - Faculty

Dr. Elsie Carter, Associate Professor of English

Dr. Carter is your English 101 teacher.  She first comes off as being very prim and proper - the business attire and the slight English accent (which I will NOT be doing) only add to this, but once you get to know her, she does have a sense a sense of humor.

She's a good teacher, although she does push her students quite a bit.  Dr. Carter is a big proponent of group learning - she frequently splits the class up into groups and makes you switch papers to critique each other's work

Dr. Bernd Van Wahl, Professor of Philosophy

Arrogance is the defining aspect of Dr. Van Wahl.  He is very proud that he is closely related to the Habsburg family and believes that he should be a titled noble in Europe had his family not moved to New York in the late 19th century.  Bernd is very patronizing; in his mind he knows the truth and everyone else is a fool.  He tries to use his wit and intellect (not to mention his authority as a professor) to get his way in every social setting.

It is rumored that if you are a young, attractive female, you should have no problem getting an A in his class, provided that you see him for "office hours."

Coach Booker, Head Football Coach

Coach was brought in from nearby University of Washington to be the head coach of the football team.  He is tough as nails and isn't afraid to get in anyone's face.  He believes that double practices are for weaklings - if this fledgling football team is going to be worth anything, players must work hard, hard, hard.

Dr. Michael Shannon, Assistant Professor of Comparative Religions

Dr. Shannon, or Mike as he prefers to be called, is one of the most laid back individuals that you'll meet on this campus.  He's never seen without his signature Hawaiian shirt.  However, don't let that fool you into thinking that he's not for real - he serves on one of the Presidential Advisorary Boards on Christian and Islamic Relations.

Dr. Alan Horowitz, Professor of Fine Arts.

Dr. Horowitz teaches Critical Interpretation of TV and Film for the Fine Arts Department.  A curmudgeon to the core, he thinks that there has not been a good movie made since WWII and that TV is simply an abomination.  Grading in his class seems random - unless you are on the same wavelength with him, forget about getting anything higher than a C.  Most students have come to accept this and just avoid taking any other classes with  him.

Dr. Stanley Lombardi

Dr. Lombardi is the the president of Evergreen College.  He is frequently seen roaming the campus, talking to students and professors alike.  He also sits in on the occasional class, which usually makes the professors nervous.  Good things have happened to the college during his tenure at Evergreen so most people have a good opinion of him.

Reverend Nathan Purl - Nathan Purl is no a member of the faculty, but he is the outspoken minister of the Cascade Bible Church.  He is also the de facto leader of the Evergreen College for Christ student group.
