Basic Computer System Recommendations

Basic requirements have been kept to a minimum.  If your system meets
the following specifications you should be able to participate in all class
activities.

Windows Systems

Processor: 
Pentium class, 100 MHz or faster
RAM (Memory): 16 MB or more
Hard Drive:  750 MB or larger
CD-ROM Drive: 2X (speed) or faster
Modem:  14.4 Kbs or faster
Multimedia: Soundcard & Speakers
Monitor:  14" or larger

Macintosh Systems

OS: 
System 7.0 or above
RAM (Memory): 8 MB or more
Hard Drive:  750 MB or larger
CD-ROM Drive: 2X (speed) or faster
Modem:  14.4 Kbs or faster
Multimedia: Soundcard & Speakers
Monitor:  14" or larger

New Computer System Guidelines

A fast computer will enable you to access course materials quickly and
easily. We don't recommend you upgrade to a new computer unless
you're really unhappy with your current system. However, if you are
thinking of buying a new computer, you may want to consider the
following guidelines.

Processor:  Pentium II class, 300 MHz or faster
RAM (Memory): 64 MB or more
Hard Drive:  4.0 GB or larger
CD-ROM Drive: 24X (speed) or faster
Modem:  56Kbs V.90 or faster
Multimedia: Soundcard & Speakers
Monitor:  17" or larger
