ECE 210 Laboratory Information

ECE 210 Lab Exam

The lab exam will be held during your lab session the last week of class. You must take the lab exam during your regular lab session.

For the Lab exam, report to lab on time as usual. Your lab instructor may ask some of you to leave and come back about one hour later. Your lab instructor will explain what you will be doing and will assign you an exam station. You may NOT use any scratch paper or a calculator.
Each student will be required to individually perform an experiment. So, you must be able to do the following:
  1. Measure a resistor
  2. Set up a circuit on the breadbox (Similar to experiment 5)
  3. Set the function generator to a voltage of the form
V S (t) = A + Bcos( w t) where A is the magnitude of the DC part, B is the magnitude of the AC part and w is radian frequency
      So, be able to set:
    1. The DC magnitude A
    2. The DC magnitude B and
    3. The frequency w
  4. Measure AC and DC Voltage using the oscilloscope (know when to use the differential measuring technique - see experiment 2.)
  5. Measure AC and DC Voltage using the DMM (See experiment 3.)
  6. Measure AC and DC Current using the DMM (PUT THE METER IN SERIES!)

You will be required to demonstrate some of the above measurements to your lab instructor.

Don't panic! If you have been participating in the performance of the experiments then you will know how to do all of the above. It's easy. I'm sure you will do fine.
