Curvilinear coordinates

In this course we shall use two coordinate systems, besides rectangular coordinates: circular cylindrical coordinates and spherical polar coordinates. These two systems are considered first, then a general treatment of curvilinear coordinate systems, which contains the above two systems as a particular cases, is given.
