John Campbell
John Campbell is Senior
Vice President, Workforce Planning, for the North Central Region of United
Parcel Service. He manages UPS' largest
employment group. Johns' primary responsibility is for staffing in the Chicago
area, and he also oversees affirmative action and EEOC compliance throughout
Illinois, Wisconsin and Indiana.
In today's highly
competitive market, John is responsible for bringing new and innovative ways to
attract qualified workers. This past year, UPS interviewed over 40,000
applicants and hired over 26,000 in this region.
John is responsible for
providing these qualified workers to fuel UPS' growth in the Chicago region. One
of the facilities in his region, the Chicago Area Consolidation Hub (CACH)
facility located in Hodgkins, handles 1.2 million items or just over 10% of UPS'
daily volume.
John has been with UPS
since 1978, and has held a variety of positions in areas including operations,
safety, industrial engineering, human resources and employment. Prior to being
assigned to the North Central Region, John worked in New Jersey, Southern
California, Hawaii, and Arizona.
John is a member of the Society
for Human Resource Managers (SHRM), Illinois Education-To Careers Steering
Committee, and is active with the Chicago area colleges.
John lives in Naperville
with his wife Cindy. A father of three, his daughter is a second grade teacher
in New Jersey. His son Chad is in the United States Air Force and his youngest
son Ryan is a junior at Arizona University.
