Professor B Presents the:

INTERNET JOB WEB

This site has been hit    times, the last hit by YOU!

This list of some of the more popular internet web sites may be of help to both undergraduates and graduates in finding a job, including many sites of interest to bilingual and international students. If you know of additional sites, have had good or bad experience with a site, find that a site is no longer a job site (I found one that had changed into a dating service!), or find the link to one of these sites is not working, please e-mail your information to me at dbarnum@uic.edu.

There are over 1000 job sites, so if you don't see what you want below, use a search engine such as www.google.com to help you.

A great book on using the net for job searches, and describing many of the the best sites, that is recommended by Fortune is CareerXroads, which you can preview at http://www.careerxroads.com.

Most sites are free for job seekers, with companies and recruiters being the ones that pay.   At most sites, you can post your resume so employee-hunters can look for you.   On many sites, you can do a search for only those jobs that meet your choice of industry, job title,  geographic location, and sometimes more.

Also, be aware that many professional organizations have web sites that include job listings.   And, also be aware that many business firms and other organizations have web sites that include worthwhile information about them, and sometimes include their job vacancies.  In late 2001 I had lunch with an HR executive from McDonalds, and she said that they are increasingly using their website for managerial recruiting.
