Incidence
studies:
- are longitudinal studies and are better indicators of
dental caries progression.
- -2 or more "D"(s) per year indicate a high
caries Increment.
- are a measure of the number of lesions/period of time.
- use differences in caries scores (referred to as
"delta"DMF(S) or DMF(T)) at 6 months, 12 months or 18 months periods between
examinations.
- are limited in that they only measure the numbers of new
initial lesions per unit of time and not the size or growth of the lesion.
- Try sample test.
