Sequella
of Previous Preventive Strategies
- This approach fails to address the cariogenic
bacteria and their control.
- The approach also fails to treat the initial
lesion or white spot in a non-invasive fashion.
- The preventive program is applied broadly and
equally to all patients creating over-treatment in many patients (especially
the low risk patients).
- The traditional treatment is repair of the
damage produced by the disease without identification of the causative
agent. We only are treating the terminal end of the
disease. We are treating caries as a lesion, not a disease
process.
