4.  Explain why it is somewhat misleading to name L-aromatic amino acid decarboxylase as a DOPA decarboxylase?

Ans: Because this enzyme is not specific for L-Dopa, it will also decarboxylate other L-aromatic amino acids such as L-tryptophan, L-histidine, L-phenylalanine, etc. Thus, it is more appropriate to name it as L-aromatic amino acid decarboxylase to truly describe its substrate specificities.
