EXAMINATIONS There are two types of examinations: practice and proficiency examinations. Practice examinations are found at the end of each chapter and all the correct answers are provided in the appendix. The proficiency examinations will be used to determine the student's letter grade and they will be administered either on campus or by approved proctors off campus. Students on campus will take their proficiency examinations within the College of Pharmacy. These examinations will be administered in the Pharmacy Computer Center, (Room 156, COP). These examinations will be on a computer system called NOVANET (aka PLATO). No special training is necessary to use this computerized testing system. NOVANET has a 10 minute introductory lesson for those unfamiliar with the keyboard. The majority of the examination questions will be multiple choice type questions requiring a single best answer. Each unit examination contains questions covering 2 lessons (eg. Unit 1 covers lessons 1 and 2.). Generally there will be an equal number of questions from each lesson on the unit examination (approximately 40 questions per unit exam). Students require about one hour to complete an unit examination.
FINAL GRADE DETERMINATION The following criteria based grading scheme will be used to determine the letter grade of individual students: A=100-88%, B=87-76%, C=75-64%, D=63-52% Failure (below 52%) is possible but not expected. This grading scale reflects the grade distribution of the classes which have preceded yours. Virtually all students have successfully completed the course. The performances on your examinations are monitored by the coordinator. A student-teacher conference might be suggested for those students who have performed below expectations.
Completion Dates: Three weeks per unit. Due dates will always be on Mondays (or Tuesdays after Monday holidays). The
