After Friday of the first week of classes, undergraduates may initiate a late course drop through the fifth week by seeing an LAS advisor of the 3rd floor of UH by appointment (996-3366). LAS students are entitled to a total of two late course drops during their undergradtuae career.

Attendance

Please arrive on time. Attendance will not be taken beyond the first few weeks of class. That being said, it will be extremely difficult to do well if you do not attend every class. Logic can be quite challenging, and we will be moving at a brisk pace. Also, if you miss a class you will probably miss a quiz. (See "Grading" below.)

Grading

• Midterm Exam (35%) -- The midterm will cover chapters 1-6.
• Final Exam (35%) -- The final, which is NOT comprehensive, will cover all the material we get to past chapter 6. The final exam date will be announced.
• Several Quizzes* (30%) -- There will be at least one quiz every week. There will be no make-up quizzes. I will drop your lowest quiz grade. The quizzes will not be announced beforehand.

I will give you at least one weeks notice prior to both exams. Makeup exams will be given only in extraordinary circumstances. You are responsible for collecting and keeping old exams and quizzes--if there is a mistake made in calculating your final grade, it is your responsibility to produce your old work.
