Week 15

For section this week I would like for you to discuss your thoughts and reactions to the two films we watched in class this week about Milgram's obedience study and the Stanford prison study. Please be prepared to discuss (a) how you think you would have behaved in these studies, (b) why people behave in ways in which we would not have predicted (i.e., why people do things that they would not have thought they would have been capable of doing, (c) what other variables may influence the likelihood that people will be obedient or disobedient to authority (Milgram study), and (d) the power of "roles" in how we behave in everyday life.
