Overview of Observation Study

A child (8 months old) was shown 7 stimuli on a computer screen for 30 seconds each against a blue background.
Before each stimulus, the child was oriented to the screen using 5 objects that appeared every 5 seconds accompanied by a cash register noise.
The onset of each experimental stimulus was accompaned by a harp crescendo.
The orientation screen (5 objects with cash register) appeared between each target stimulus.

The child was seated on his father's lap.
The computer was placed about two feet from the child (just out of reach) and the child's reaction to the stimuli was video recorded.

Your task is to rank the 7 stimuli in terms of the child's interest in them.  Note what cues you are using to make your ratings.
You will see the video twice.  Once to get an idea -- and once to take detailed notes.  You will then be asked to make your ratings and submit them to the TA.
