Confidence Interval

• The range in which we are fairly certain that the population value lies.

  • If we drew a sample from the SWR class with a mean age of 33 years and establish a confidence interval of plus or minus 2 years, we are fairly certain that the mean age in the population is between 31 and 35.
  • 31-35 is the confidence interval.
