We are going to be exposed to a good deal of information about these four countries.  Instead of giving you specific study questions, I would like you to do the assigned Mar-Molinero reading and also look through the links below.

Mexico

It is interesting to note that Mexican artists like Frida Kahlo as well as U.S. Chicana/o activists draw heavily on  indigenous Mexican icons and culture.  This may be an attempt to define themselves as uniquely Mexican in the face of other forces such as Spanish colonialism, industrialization, etc.
