Professor Robert H Costa, our highly valued and warmly respected colleague, passed away on Friday September 1st, 2006, after a heroic battle with cancer. Rob made many important contributions to the field of cancer biology and will be sorely missed by all of us.

A memorial service was held Sept. 16 at 10 a.m. at the Euclid Avenue United Methodist Church, 405 S. Euclid Ave. in Oak Park. Donations for memorial symposium may be made to UIC department of Biochemistry and Molecular Genetics (mailing address: Department of Biochemistry & Molecular Genetics, UIC, MC 669, 900 S. Ashland Ave.,Chicago, IL 60607). Funds will endow a series of annual lectures on cancer biology in his memory.
