3rd Annual Robert H. Costa
Memorial Lecture

On March 23rd, 2007 the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Genetics held the first Robert H. Costa Memorial Lecture to honor Robert H. Costa (1957-2006) who passed away after a heroic battle with cancer. The first Robert H. Costa memorial lecture was given by Dr. James Darnell, Jr., Rockefeller University, who Rob joined in 1985 as a postdoctoral student. Rob made many important contributions to the field of cancer biology and was a leading authority in the molecular analysis of liver analysis and cell proliferation. The second Robert H. Costa Memorial Lecture was held on March 26, 2008 and was given by Kenneth S. Zaret, Fox Chase Cancer Center.

The third Annual Robert H. Costa Memorial Lecture will be held on April 29, 2009 and will be given by Dr. Terry Van Dyke, Director, Mouse Cancer Genetics Program, NCI-Frederick.
