The Clinical Performance Center Facility

Established in 1987, the Clinical Performance Center at UIC is one of the oldest and largest centers in the United States.

Our newly renovated, state-of-the-art center has two independently functioning "clinic" spaces, each with

  • 8-10 fully equipped examining rooms
  • Conference rooms for preliminary and follow-up discussions
  • A video monitoring room for real-time viewing of encounters

Encounters can be videorecorded for later review and for archiving
off-site.

Faculty members of the University of Illinois at Chicago Medical
Center develop cases and assist in training patients to ensure that the
case simulations are true-to-life. Two experienced full-time
standardized patient trainers and their support staff supervise the
smooth and professional implementation of performance center
activities. A faculty member in the department of medical education directs the Center.

The Clinical Performance Center is available for use by area educational institutions and health care organizations. The
CPC collaborates in national and international projects and provides educational services to health professions programs worldwide.
