Clinical Care

Heart Center: Center for Heart Failure

At the University of Illinois at Chicago’s Center for Heart Failure it is our goal to provide outstanding patient care while developing and applying cutting edge technology and treatment approaches. We utilize a multidisciplinary disease management approach to care for patients with early to advanced stage heart failure.  The program performs over 1500 outpatient visits annually and is actively following nearly 400 patients.

From an educational stand-point, the program does support a 1 year fellowship training program. The heart failure fellow receives experience in both the inpatient and outpatient management of patients with advanced heart failure. The fellows also participate in a comprehensive didactic program covering all aspects of cardiology and will gain experience in the design, performance and analysis of research projects.

In addition to applying the most advanced technology and treatment to patients care, we pursue an active research program in both the clinical and basic sciences.
