Clinical Medical and Surgical Case Conference - Mondays from 7:30– 8:30 a.m.
A weekly Case Conference is coordinated by Dr. Russell Brown. This conference is attended by the entire GI faculty and staff, and by members of the Departments of Surgery, Pathology and Radiology.

Location:
Room 1130 UIMC
1740 S. Taylor St.

Target medical disciplines:
Gastroenterologists, General physicans, GI surgeons and Internists

Purpose: The purpose of the Clinical Medical and Surgical Case Conference is to provide a weekly forum for the illustrative presentation and interpretation of individual cases towards the goal of generating a differential diagnosis and diagnostic approach to interesting and/or unusual cases involving disease states applicable to medical and surgical gastroenterology.



Objectives:
•  List a rational differential diagnosis and diagnostic approach to important clinical problems seen commonly in a gastrointestinal and/or surgical practice.
•  Describe a rational therapeutic approach to important clinical problems seen commonly in a gastrointestinal consultation practice.
•  List the indications and contraindications to common gastrointestinal procedures including endoscopy, colonoscopy, ERCP, endoscopic ultrasound and surgical procedures.
