Does your family have a history of colorectal and other cancers and you feel you might be at risk? The Familial Gastrointestinal Cancer Unit (FGICU) of the University of Illinois at Chicago provides risk assessment, genetic counseling services and genetic testing to people concerned about a family history of cancer. We can provide information you need to make informed choices, assess risks, and plan for tomorrow.
The FGICU is a multidisciplinary unit to care for patients and families who may be
affected by a hereditary GI cancer syndrome and is the only facility in Chicago that
specializes in Gastrointestinal cancer genetics. We provide comprehensive state-
