Xavier Llor, MD, PhD

Dr. Llor is a gastroenterologist specializing in hereditary gastrointestinal cancer. He has a very active research program focusing on different aspects of colorectal cancer including genetics as well as the effect of environmental factors in the development of this cancer. This work has resulted in more than 30 scientific publications in this field. Dr. Llor established the Familial Gastrointestinal Cancer Unit at the University of Illinois at Chicago in June 2007 as a pioneer unit that provides an integrated approach to hereditary gastrointestinal cancers, including genetic counseling, genetic testing, and surveillance.
