Lyn Sue Kahng, MD was recruited to the UIC Section of Digestive Diseases and Nutrition from Stanford University. Her research focuses on studying DNA replication in bacteria with multipartite genomes, and she is also interested in how DNA methylation influences bacterial physiology. Dr. Kahng recently received a Glaxo Institute for Digestive Health (GIDH) Basic Research Award to study the effects of DNA methylation on the replication and virulence of the cholera bacterium.
