A weekly (Tuesdays from 5:00-6:00 p.m.)Clinical Medical and Surgical Case Conference is coordinated by Dr. Russell Brown. This conference is attended by the entire GI faculty and staff, and by members of the Departments of Surgery, Pathology and Radiology.
	"Frontiers" is an ongoing weekly Research Conference (Wednesdays from 8-9 a.m.) that brings internationally recognized investigators to UIC to meet with physicians and research staff. The environment is extremely collegial and supportive of both PhD's and MD's pursuing careers in gastroenterology research.
Physiology and Biophysics (PhyB 512) Gastrointestinal Physiology - Advanced study of the physiology of the gastrointestinal tract (Thursdays during the academic year). Special emphasis will be placed on recent developments in cellular and molecular aspects and on how they relate to established concepts in the literature.
Graduate College (GC 401) Scientific Integrity and Responsible Research - Meets during the first seven weeks of the term. Designed to meet NIH requirements for formal RCR (Responsible Conduct of Research) training. Ethical and legal issues in the conduct of research and UIC research standards, regulations, and procedures. Combined GI/Radiology Conference - Meets from noon-1 p.m. every 2nd Monday GI Journal Club - Meets from 5-6:30 p.m. every 1st & 3rd Thursday Esophageal manometry/pH conference - Meets every Wednesday from 7-8 a.m. Morbidity & Mortality Conference - Meets every Wednesday at noon and is overseen by the Department of Medicine
