We at the Section of Hematology/Oncology at UIC have a mission..We believe that our mission begins with compassionate and competent patient care. This patient care embodies our core competencies in cancer research, cutting-edge surgery techniques, new anti-cancer molecules, and seamless translation of bench research to bedside. We bring to our work empathy and utmost concern for the patients’ welfare. Our mission is enhanced by our dedication to provide state of the art medical education to medical students, house staff, nurses, and community physicians. We also believe that a better-informed patient is best equipped to make the right choices regarding his/her healthcare. Our research teams, from molecular biology labs, to clinical trials ensures, that tomorrow's science is practiced as today’s medicine.
