Fred Zar MD |
Training
Dr. Zar received his MD with honors at the University of Illinois at Chicago . He completed his Internal Medicine Residency and Chief Residency in Internal Medicine at Illinois Masonic Hospital followed by a Research Fellowship in Infectious Diseases at the University of Illinois at Chicago . He has been an infectious disease consultant for 22 years and is in his 20th year as an Internal Medicine Residency Program Director.
Clinical Interests
Currently Dr. Zar is the Program Director of the Internal Medicine Residency and Medical Director of the Inpatient Medicine Service at the Univerisity of Illinois Medical Center. He is also the Course Director of the M2 Clinical Pathophysiology Course at the University of Illinois College of Medicine at Chicago . He has been honored to receive the Clifford Pilz Teaching Attending of the Year award for 2003, 2004, 2005 and 2006.
Research Interests
His research interests include Clostridium difficile diarrhea, HIV therapy, and medical education.
