ID Section Faculty have strong collaborative ties with Faculty at the UIC School of Pharmacy. Faculty with PharmD degrees and joint appointments and PharmD students work side-by-side with ID Section Faculty in patient care areas at the medical center, on the ID-Transplantation Service and in the community clinics that serve the HIV patient population supported by the Section's comprehensive HIV Program. Shared clinical investigation protocols and grants in a variety of areas expand the scope of research for Faculty from both Colleges. The location of the School of Pharmacy across the street from the ID Section offices and research laboratories facilitates communication and interaction between the two programs.
