In the event that the resident fails to progress at a reasonably expected or average rate, fails to attend conference without a valid excuse, or in any other ways fails to achieve acceptable standards of performance set by the program, the Director reserves the right to forbid moonlighting activities.

The resident may engage in “internal moonlighting” shifts such as fast track at the University of Illinois, Minor Emergency Care (MEC) at Mercy Hospital, and minor care at our satellite clinic at O’Hare Airport.  In addition, residents may work in the main EDs at UIH, MHMC, and AIMMC if double covered by an EM attending.  Outside moonlighting shifts are only approved by the Emergency Medicine Program Director and must be accompanied by a board certified emergency medicine attending.  No single covered shifts will be allowed.
