The University of Illinois at Chicago Library of the Health Sciences (LHSC) will benefit from the addition of several relevant and appropriate titles donated by the Eye and Ear Infirmary Library in recognition of the Infirmary's 150th anniversary.  The materials include books that span the last one hundred years and range from anatomy to zoology. The LHSC collection of over 500,000 volumes and 5,100 journals supports education, research, and clinical practice in the Colleges of Medicine, Dentistry, Nursing, Applied Health Sciences, Pharmacy, and the School of Public Health; the UIC Medical Center Hospital and Outpatient Care Center, and other affiliated health care institutions.

All titles donated will be unique additions to the rich collection of materials already housed in the comprehensive biomedical and health care collection at the Library of the Health Sciences.  These texts, many of which are not held on a regional or national level, will now be catalogued and available for use on a global scale.  Margaret Chervinko, Senior Research Information Specialist responsible for curating the Eye and Ear Library Collections and Deborah Blecic, Bibliographer for Life and Health Sciences, LHSC, are collaborating on the identification and transition of materials.
