Learning Objectives for Ophthalmology Grand Rounds

Upon completion of this activity participants should be able to:

  • Diagnose and treat anterior and posterior segment diseases of the eye with greater accuracy, for example glaucoma, corneal disease, uveitis, neuro-ophthalmic disorders and retinal diseases

  • Explain current ophthalmic diagnostic and surgical techniques such as ultrasonography, laser techniques, as well as current techniques used in cataract and retinal surgery

  • Review the manifestations of rare and unusual diseases which may or may not be frequently seen in the general practice of ophthalmology

  • Recognize the relationship and correlation between basic science research and clinical practice

The University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC) College of Medicine is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education to provide continuing medical education for physicians.

UIC College of Medicine designates this Continuing Medical Education activity for up to 2 credit hours per session in category 1 physician's recognition award of the American Medical Association.  Each physician should declare only those hours of credit he/she actually spent in the educational activity.
