RE: |
Child Abuse Reporting Law |
As a resident you are a mandated reporter of child abuse and neglect, and consequently you are required to know the Illinois Abused and Neglected Child Reporting Act (IL. Rev. Stat. 1987, Ch. 23, pars 2051 et seq.). This law requires you to report cases of child abuse and neglect accordingly. You must also sign an acknowledgment of mandated reporter status to be kept on file by your employer. |
A copy of the Acknowledgment of Mandated Reporter Status has been sent to you. Please sign and return it to Graduate Medical Education at Orientation. A summary copy of the law and the Hospital Policy and Procedure for Reporting Child Abuse and Neglect are available from the Graduate Medical Education Office if you would like more information. The University of Illinois Hospital child abuse reporting procedures are printed on the back of the form. |
