A resident or fellow may not apply for medical staff privileges at any hospital without the written permission of the resident's program director. |

| 9.2 |
A resident may not apply for attending staff privileges at any affiliated hospital for the specialty in which he/she is currently training. Privileges will be limited to the specialty in which the resident is already board certified or eligible. Example: A fellow in a surgical subspecialty may apply for general surgery privileges, with the approval of his/her program director, assuming the fellow is board eligible in general surgery. The fellow cannot apply for privileges related to his/her current field of training. |

| 9.3 |
Residents may be appointed to COM faculty status, including paid appointments, at the discretion of the department, within the parameters of the COM faculty appointment process. |
