Pediatric Endocrinology

The Pediatric Endocrinology Division evaluates infants, children, and adolescents with endocrine disorders including:

  • carbohydrate metabolic disorders (diabetes mellitus, hypoglycemia),
  • lipid metabolic disorders,
  • growth disorders (growth failure, excessive growth),
  • pubertal disorders (precocious puberty/premature thelarchy/premature pubarche, delayed, gynecomastia),
  • hirsutism and menstrual disorders,
  • polycystic ovarian syndrome,
  • other hyperandrogenic disorders in adolescents and young women,
  • gonadal disorders (gonadal dysgenesis, primary and secondary hypogonadism),
  • ambiguous genitalia,
  • calcium and phosphorous disorders (hypocalcemia, rickets, hypercalcemia,hypophosphotemia, hyperphosphotemia),
  • obesity disorders,
  • thyroid disorders (goiter, hypothyroidism, hyperthyroidism, thyroid nodule),and
  • pituitary disorders (congenital pituitary dysfunction, acquired pituitary dysfunction, diabetes insipidus).
