The Pediatric Endocrinology Division evaluates infants, children, and
adolescents with endocrine disorders including:
- carbohydrate metabolic
disorders (diabetes mellitus, hypoglycemia),
- lipid metabolic
disorders,
- growth disorders
(growth failure, excessive growth),
- pubertal disorders
(precocious puberty/premature thelarchy/premature pubarche, delayed,
gynecomastia),
- hirsutism and
menstrual disorders,
- polycystic ovarian
syndrome,
- other hyperandrogenic
disorders in adolescents and young women,
- gonadal disorders
(gonadal dysgenesis, primary and secondary hypogonadism),
- ambiguous genitalia,
- calcium and
phosphorous disorders (hypocalcemia, rickets,
hypercalcemia,hypophosphotemia, hyperphosphotemia),
- obesity disorders,
- thyroid disorders
(goiter, hypothyroidism, hyperthyroidism, thyroid nodule),and
- pituitary disorders
(congenital pituitary dysfunction, acquired pituitary dysfunction,
diabetes insipidus).
