The Department of Pediatrics of the University of Illinois provides comprehensive medical care for infants, children, and adolescents.

Our faculty include a general pediatrics group as well as a full range of pediatric sub-specialists.

Our Children’s Center also includes children’s specialists in pediatric surgery and in many of the surgical sub-specialities, anesthesiology, emergency pediatrics, pediatric radiology, children’s dentistry, child psychiatry, and in a variety of other areas that support our comprehensive clinical programs.

We have 28 full-time clinical faculty in the Department of Pediatrics, who supervise and teach our medical students, a group of 67 residents in Pediatrics and Medicine/Pediatrics, and a total of 8 subspecialty fellows. Our clinical programs are organized in 11 divisions that comprise 14 pediatric subspecialty areas.

Our faculty are engaged in a wide variety of research activities, ranging from basic laboratory-based studies to clinical investigation directly related to our various patient-care programs.
