The Division of Plastic, Reconstructive and Cosmetic Surgery

Our mission is to provide the highest possible state-of-the-art compassionate and respectful care to all our patients and to maintain the appropriate intellectual environment to foster and promote education and research.

Welcome to the Division of Plastic, Reconstructive and Cosmetic Surgery at the University of Illinois at Chicago. This surgical division was established over 65 years ago.

The world renowned Craniofacial and Maxillofacial Centers were incorporated with the Division in 1995. Visit The Craniofacial Centerto learn more about craniofacial surgeries and their team approach to patient care.

Over the years, 150 residents and international fellows, received their training through our division and are currently practicing in the United States and globally. These doctors benefited from many important techniques and innovations, here at UIC, which were presented by faculty members. Additionally, a large number of clinical and research papers, book chapters and books serve as a testimony to our good works toward execellence in medical practices.

Dr. Cohen, In the News

Congratulations to Dr. Mimis Cohen for his prestigious and well-deserved appointment as President of the American Society of Maxillofacial Surgeons.

Chicago magazine's January 2010's "Best MDs for Today" lists more than 345 doctors in 57 specialities. Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery Chief, Dr. Mimis Cohen, was once again, recognized among the best doctors. He was recommended by his peers in 2008 and in 2002. Dr. Cohen is recipient of numerous awards throughout his career at UIC.
