LYMPHOANGIOSCINTIGRAPHY

INDICATIONS:

Evaluation of primary and secondary lymph channels in patients with malignant melanoma and breast cancer.

PATIENT PREPARATION:

None.

RADIOPHARMACEUTICAL:

Tc-99m-sulfur colloid (filtered twice).

Dose: varies. 400 mCi in 0.5 mL

Technique of administration: Intradermal

SCANNING TIME:

2 to 4 hours.

OTHER CONSIDERATIONS:

Cine display: Acquire sequential 1 minute digital images over the site of interest, e.g. inguinal nodes and thighs, for 40 minutes and display in a cine mode.
