UFE - WOMEN'S Health SUMMIT

An alarming 20 to 40 percent of women ages 35 to 55 have symptomatic uterine fibroids.  The incidence is twice as common among African-American women.  Fibroid symptoms present themselves in different ways, including, but not limited to, heavy menstrual bleeding, painful periods, pelvic pressure, frequent urination, pain during intercourse and lower back pain.

The University of Illinois Medical Center is committed to providing access the highest quality care and educating the community about the latest medical advances available.  It is important to us to provide our patients with education that will assist them in finding solutions to health issues that limit or decrease quality of life.

If you have been diagnosed with uterine fibroids or are suffering from the symptoms mentioned above, we encourage you to attend the upcoming Women’s Health Summit.  You will learn more about the options available to women who suffer from uterine fibroids.  There will also be a patient who has had uterine fibroid embolization to share her story with you.
