Submitting
a request
CUPPA is
being allowed to use the online building access system. Only Sharyn Gordon Dyer is
currently authorized to use the system as it is still being finished.
Until each CUPPA unit has a contact with access to online building
access, please
email CUPPA building access requests to sgordo4@uic.edu
When
requesting building access, please include the following in your email:
- 9 digit UIN (with no spaces)
- Note if
the individual is faculty/staff, PA student, UPP student, UPA student (GAs and RAs count
as
students), or special user
- Note the unit affiliation
- Note the Access
Levels you would like to add individual to or remove individual from
(see below)
CUPPA can
assign an individual access to certain “Access Levels” using this
online system.
An access level is a list. Everyone on the list has
access to select readers. The CUPPA access levels and the readers
related to those levels are:

Notes
- All
staff and students who have building
access are assigned accordingly to CUPPAH General/PA Students/UPP
Students/UPA Students and therefore have access to the main and dock doors and to
102, which allows access to the first-floor lounge. UPP and PA Students are also given access to 215 so
that they may use the computer lab. UPA students are granted access to the 215 computer lab and B17 with consent from the instructor.
- All students are
given terminate dates when assigned to any access level. The terminate
date is generally 8/15 two years after they begin their degree, unless
requested otherwise.
Several doors in CUPPAH are on automatic locking schedules. When
locked,
those with building access can still open these doors with keys or an
I-card that has active building access for that area.
During Fall and Spring semesters:
Unlocked from 8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., Monday-Friday
Locked at all other times
During intersessions
and Summer session:
Unlocked from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., Monday-Friday

215 CUPPAH (UPP) locking schedule
The main door to suite 215 CUPPAH, the UPP suite where the computer lab
is located, is on the following
locking schedule year-round:
Unlocked
from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., Monday-Friday
Locked at all other times
