Amy M. Stewart, MPA '95
Previously I was employed with the Art Institute of Chicago in the
Financial Planning Department. I worked closely with the Development
Department in processing the gifts that came to the museum. In June
1998 I returned to the St. Louis area and found work with a small
nonprofit agency. I am working with the development and coordination of
a system of tracking gifts on a new database for the growing agency. I
also handle all tributes and thank you acknowledgements. (1/99)
Sean R. Brady, MPA '94
Currently, I am in law school at IIT/Chicago-Kent College of Law. I
will graduate in May 1999. (1/99)

Illinois Child Care Bureau is a sponsor agency for the USDA funded
Child and Adult Care Food Program. As Special Projects Director, I get
the word out about this child nutrition program through promotional
programs and legislative advocacy. I am married with three children.

Sharon L. Hill, MPA '91
I am currently pursuing a doctorate in Urban Planning and Public
Administration at the University of Texas at Arlington. (1/99)
Conrad Pomykala, MPA '91
I used my spring and summer free time to train for my first Chicago
Marathon, gaining an "Up Close" view of our Urban Environment as I ran
most of my 1,000 miles through the city. (1/99)
Barbra Reed, MPA '91
I am currently an Assistant Director for Student Academic Services at
UNC Greensboro. In January I may come back on a part time basis to
teach an academic skills course to probationary students. I am due to
have my first child in October. (1/99)
Nancy Janet Cohen, MPA '90
After teaching government and public policy courses at several
universities in our area (Indiana University at Gary, Dominican
University, among many), I'm happy to report that I'm working at the
Rotary Foundation. My job is to develop a research function that allows
volunteer and professional fundraisers to better structure
solicitations for major gifts. I love the humanitarian and educational
work of the foundation! I'm active with the Association of Professional
Researches for Advancement, having chaired the Special Constituencies
Track at the 1998 APRA International Conference. (1/99)
Edward Szczypinski, MPA '90
I worked on national campaign of Senator Dick Durbin and President
Clinton. I also do consulting work with Public Interest Research Group
on policies concerning network resources and endangered species. (1/99)
Wendy S. Musto Gorski, MPA '83
I have made a midlife career change from executive search to teaching
high school English and English as a second language. In this most
satisfying career I am opening doors to Latino immigrants by addressing
the importance of English as a second language and a college education.
I work informally with the LARES program at UIC, helping students apply
to UIC and pursue 4 year bachelor degrees. (1/99)
Lee Ann Waltzing, MPA '82
I have been working at the City of West Des Moines since March 1989 as
Assistant City Manager. Over the last nine years I have been involved
in many exciting projects and activities. As assistant I have generally
been assigned to special projects. The most rewarding have involved
facilitating citizen committees (capital planning, comprehensive plan,
assessment policy, etc.) and tracking a local government curriculum
developed for 5th grade classes in WDM. On the personal side, I am
married to John (for 16 years) and we have two children, Scott, age 11,
and Sarah, age 7. After having been owners of a talented dog, Lefty
(who was seen jumping rope on America's Funniest Home Videos) we now
have a less talented dog, Cocoa, who is a chocolate Labrador. (1/99)
James Wolinski, MPA '82
I have been
the Community Development Director of Evanston since 1994,
and I am currently attending Northwestern University for a Master of
Science in Communication. (1/99)
