Great Cities Faculty Scholar Seminar


The next Great Cities Faculty Scholar Seminar will be held on:
Wednesday, February 5 at 9:00 am in the Great Cities Institute conference room.

Faculty Scholar Rebecca Hendrick will lead a discussion on the following topic:
Fiscal Strategy Making in Chicago Suburbs: How Suburban Municipalities Balance Their Budget and Manage Fiscal Stress

Rebecca Hendrick is an associate professor of Public Administration in the College of Urban Planning and Public Affairs at the University of Illinois at Chicago. She received her Ph.D. in Political Science from Michigan State University in 1986. She was a member of the Department of Political Science at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee from 1985 1997 and directed their Master of Public Administration Program from 1991-1997. Her teaching and research interests include research methods, statistics and econometrics, budgeting and financial management of local government, strategic management, performance monitoring, and program evaluation. Her research is published in both political science and public administration journals. Her most current research project focuses on fiscal stress, financial condition, and financial management strategies of suburbs in the Chicago metropolitan region.
