Abstract: CATS latest completed project is the Interactive Regional
Highway Atlas, an ArcIMS application providing transportation data (AADT
and VMT) for northeastern Illinois. The Interactive Regional Highway Atlas
is available on the CATS website, www.catsmpo.com. Choose 'What's New',
scroll to 2001 Atlas and click 'Start' or click 'Interactive Regional
Highway Atlas.
The application provides the standard zoom in and zoom out tools to
navigate to the user's areas of interest. Whole facilities, (for example,
the Dan Ryan Expressway,) or individual segments or ramps can be chosen.
The application highlights the selection while the corresponding data
appear at the bottom of the viewing area.
The presentation provides an overview of how the 2001 Atlas was created, a
demonstration and discussion of the ArcIMS application and an explanation
of VBA programming used to create the 2001 Atlas in .pdf format. The
program lasts about an hour including time for questions.
Bios are forthcoming.
