Paul Tiyambe Zeleza will discuss the roots and resolution of African conflicts as a precursor to two new books, The Roots of African Conflicts: The Causes and Costs and The Resolution of African Conflicts. Both books are scheduled to be released in October/November of 2007.

Paul Tiyambe Zeleza is Professor of African American Studies and History and Head of the Department of African American Studies at UIC and formerly Director of the Center for African Studies at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Dr. Zeleza specializes in African economic, social and intellectual history, as well as development, gender, and diaspora studies. He has worked in Malawi, Kenya, Jamaica, Canada and the U.S and has published extensively. Several of his books have won distinguished awards. Currently he is working on a global project on African diasporas in Asia, Europe, and the Americas, funded by the Ford Foundation.
