Too often nonprofits assume that because they are doing good work, somehow everyone will know about it; nothing could be further from the truth. Nonprofits are a type of business, and like all businesses they must know how to promote hemselves to appropriate target markets. CNM Adjunct Instructor Martin Berg will discuss why marketing is vital to nonprofits, and will offer some practical insights.

Martin Berg, Director of Marketing and Communications for Community Investment Corporation, specializes in marketing, fundraising management and operations management. Mr. Berg is a member of the Publicity Club of Chicago, Public Relations Society of America, American Marketing Association, Independent Writers of Chicago and the Chicago Newspaper Guild/CWA Local #34071, AFL – CIO. Mr. Berg has over 25 years of nonprofit public relations/marketing experience.
