Executive Directors and Board Leaders rely on Business and Operations Managers for timely information and advice. These managers typically control today’s business operations and make key contributions to planning for the future.

How can these Managers fulfill and exceed expectations? How can the Executive Director work most effectively with these Managers? How can this collaboration have the greatest impact on fulfillment of the mission of the organization?

Deborah Strauss stepped down in 2007 after twenty-two years as Executive Director at Lumity (formerly the IT Resource Center). She is currently a consultant in the nonprofit arena working on projects involving capacity building, fundraising, and public relations and is a Certified Fund Raising Executive, Ms. Strauss is a founding member of the board of the Alliance for Nonprofit Management and served on the board of the Association of Fundraising Professionals. In 2007 she received the Capacity Builder of the Year Award from the Alliance for Nonprofit Management and previously received the Benjamin Franklin Award from the Association of Fundraising Professionals.
