Marketing Management: The course examines the basic elements of the marketing process for nonprofit organizations; compares and contrasts the role and function of sales and marketing and examines the key elements of a marketing plan. Topics covered include:
- Overview of marketing and how it differs from sales
- Image and positioning for nonprofit organizations
- Marketing strategies
- Working with the media
Nonprofit Governance: Examines the role and function of individual board members in the larger context of an organization’s mission and its unique set of needs. Participants interact with peers from a wide range of nonprofit organizations to discuss common misunderstandings about nonprofit boards and explore strategies for increasing board effectiveness.
